All you need to know about the Shiba Inu

A variation of the doge meme made by me.

Even if you have not seen the Shiba Inu in real life, you must have seen the doge meme (or some variant of it) at some point (see above image). Doge is an Internet meme that became popular on 2013 — the meme consists of a picture of a Shiba Inu dog, accompanied by a multi-coloured text in Comic sans in the foreground.

Doge is actually inspired by real rescue Shiba Inu in Japan named Kabosu, who sadly passed away earlier this year on May 24 at the ripe old age of 18. Other than Doge, another popular Shiba Inu-based meme is “Cheems”or the “bonk” meme dog, is actually based on Balltze, a Shiba-Inu from Hong Kong. Unfortunately, Balltze has also passed away in August 2023 after a battle with cancer.
