Singapore — Writer, photographer and part-time pun master Dean Koh is recovering after contracting Covid-19 for the second time.

Koh, who took about a week to test negative, said the infection this round was ‘ok lah’.

“Other than the irritating nasal congestion that caused some heaviness in my head and some cough, the symptoms were pretty manageable.
I was able to eat and taste my meals as per normal with my usual appetite,” the 39-year old said in a recent interview.

He took a concoction of over-the-counter medicine like Panadol Cough & Cold, Woods’ Herbal Cough Medicine and Difflam lozenges.

Ample amounts of herbal teas from ZTP also helped in soothing the throat.

“Actually hor, when you kena Covid, you should take the Malaysian-style herbal bak kut teh soup. Solid one, your throat will feel very shiok after that. Only try the pepper-based one at your own risk when you have Covid,” he added.

In March 2022, Koh caught Covid-19 for the first time and took a full nine days to finally test negative. The residual phlegm took weeks to completely clear.
